Hydraulic catering trailers · Ireland

Hydraulic catering trailersthat sit flat on the ground.

Our two biggest units, The Naked Berry × Scúp and Tula Mexican Grill, are 6.7 m trailers built on a hydraulic chassis. On site they lower from the axle to sit fully flat on the ground, so they trade like a fixed café. Hire them for your event, or have your own unit built on the same chassis.

How the hydraulic chassis works

On the road, each trailer travels on its twin axle and jockey wheel like any other catering trailer. On site, the hydraulic chassis lowers the whole unit until it sits fully flat on the ground, with the wheels retracting into the wheel bays.

When it is time to move on, the chassis raises the trailer back onto its wheels, ready to tow to the next event.

Why it matters

What a ground-level trailer gives your event

Flat on the ground

The trailer lowers from its axle to sit fully flat, with the wheels tucked into the wheel bays.

An easy counter height

With the trailer sitting on the ground, customers order at an easy counter height.

A clear view into the kitchen

The queue can see straight into the kitchen.

Looks like a fixed café

Sitting flat on the ground, the timber-clad unit looks like a café on your site rather than a trailer.

Tows like a trailer

Have your own unit built on one

We design and build catering trailers to order in Co. Wicklow, and we can build yours on the same hydraulic chassis: coffee, food, bar or retail, with timber cladding, tiled and stainless interiors and commercial kitchen kit.

Every layout is tested in real queues, because we trade our own builds at Electric Picnic, All Together Now and the National Ploughing Championships. See our catering trailer builds.

Questions

Hydraulic catering trailer FAQs

What is a hydraulic catering trailer?

A catering trailer built on a hydraulic chassis. It tows on its axle like any other trailer, then lowers on site to sit fully flat on the ground, with the wheels retracting into the wheel bays. Our two 6.7 m trailers, The Naked Berry × Scúp and Tula Mexican Grill, are built on one.

Which of your units are on a hydraulic chassis?

Our two big 6.7 m trailers: The Naked Berry × Scúp, serving specialty coffee, pastries, toasties, smoothies, açaí bowls and Scúp Irish gelato, and Tula Mexican Grill, serving burritos, burrito bowls and nachos. Each serves up to 1,000 covers a day.

Why does a trailer that sits on the ground matter at an event?

The counter is at an easy height for customers, the queue can see straight into the kitchen, and the unit looks like a fixed café rather than a trailer.

Can we hire both hydraulic trailers together?

Yes. Set end to end, Scúp and Tula make one 13.4 m frontage with three hatches, serving up to 1,500 covers a day: coffee and breakfast through the morning, burritos and bowls through the evening.

What power do the hydraulic trailers need?

Scúp runs on 32 A single phase and Tula on 32 A three phase. Together they need 32 A single plus 32 A three phase, or 63 A three phase. We use mains water or our own tanks, and we confirm exactly what we need before we arrive.

Are they HSE compliant and certified?

Yes. Every unit is HSE compliant, with current PAT certificates for all appliances and RECI certificates for the electrical installation. We send copies with every booking.

Can you build my catering trailer on a hydraulic chassis?

Yes. We design and build catering trailers to order in Co. Wicklow and can build yours on the same hydraulic chassis. Tell us what you want to serve and roughly what size on our build enquiry form, or see our catering trailer builds.
