Catering trailer builds · Ireland

Catering trailer buildsby people who trade from them.

We design, convert and fit out mobile catering units in Co. Wicklow: coffee trailers, food trailers, horsebox conversions, bar and retail units. We built every unit in our own fleet and trade from them all summer, so we know what a working kitchen on wheels needs.

From shell to service

How we build a unit

Every unit is stripped back and rebuilt by us. Photos from our recent builds.

  1. A unit opened up at dusk: bare walls, ceiling battens and sockets, with the layout drawn on the board

Ceiling framed, sockets and commando supply in, the whole layout drawn on the wall before anything is fitted.

  2. Inside a unit during the build: white cabinets and under-counter fridges set out
    02Layout & refrigeration

Cabinets and stainless under-counter fridges set in around the service hatch and workflow.

  3. Green tiles going up around a sliding hatch above stainless fridges

Wipe-clean tiled splashbacks and panelled walls, cut and fitted by hand.

  4. Finished unit: vertical timber cladding, solid timber counter and green tiled interior

Built on a hydraulic chassis

Our Scúp and Tula trailers sit on a hydraulic base. On site, the trailer lowers from its twin axle and jockey wheel to sit fully flat on the ground, with the wheels retracting into the wheel bays. Customers get an easy counter height and a clear view into the kitchen, and the unit looks like a fixed café.

We can build your unit on the same hydraulic chassis.

Build quality

The standard we build to

Timber cladding

Vertical timber cladding finished by hand. Warm up close, recognisable from across a field.

Tiled, stainless interiors

Wipe-down tile walls, stainless prep surfaces and timber ceilings, finished to the standard of a fixed café.

Real kitchen kit

Commercial espresso machines, grinders, blenders, fridges and hot water, laid out around the hatch and the workflow.

Certified electrics

Our own units carry PAT certificates for all appliances and RECI certificates for the electrical installation.

Tested by real queues

We trade our own builds at Electric Picnic, All Together Now and the National Ploughing Championships, so every layout is proven under pressure.

Questions

Catering trailer build FAQs

How much does a custom catering trailer cost?

It depends on the base (your own trailer or horsebox, or a new one), the size, the equipment and the finish. Tell us what you want to serve on the build enquiry form and we will price the build.

How long does a build take?

It depends on the spec and how much equipment goes in. Tell us when you need the unit trading and we will tell you honestly whether we can hit that date.

Can you convert my existing trailer or horsebox?

Yes. Send us photos and the dimensions of your trailer or horsebox and we will tell you what is possible.

Can you build on a hydraulic chassis?

Yes. Our Scúp and Tula trailers sit on a hydraulic base that lowers flat to the ground for service, and we can build yours on the same.

What certification does a catering trailer need in Ireland?

You must notify the HSE before you start trading as a food business, and new trailers need NSAI type approval. We certify our own units with PAT certificates for the appliances and RECI certificates for the electrical installation. We will talk you through what applies to your build.

What can you build?

Coffee trailers, food trailers, horsebox conversions, bar units, retail and brand units, and counter-and-gazebo setups, with the same cladding, interiors and kitchen kit as our own fleet.

Where are you based?

We build in Newtownmountkennedy, Co. Wicklow, and work with clients across Ireland and Northern Ireland.
